HEU Community | Deep Dive: “AI Ethics and Data Protection”

Cutting-edge technologies combined with nano or macro robots using artificial intelligence as well as the Internet of Things are already integral parts of the Horizon Europe work programme and will continue to play a prominent role in the future.

In light of this, it is imperative for developers and potential users across all sectors of our society to possess a comprehensive understanding of the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence and data protection within the legal framework of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act and the GDPR.

This deep dive aims to provide valuable insights into the Data Protection and Artificial Intelligence sections of the ethical (self-)assessment. It is relevant for researchers and stakeholders planning to submit proposals for research projects involving artificial intelligence.

Our speaker, Cristina Contero Almagro, is a specialist in AI and telecommunication regulations as well as Data Protection. With an MSc in Big Data Analytics and AI and two LLCs in Legal Practice and Information Technology Law, she possesses the expertise needed to navigate the complexities and requirements of human-centric development in this field. Currently, she is a Partner of Aphaia specializing in AI and Data Protection, acts as a Data Protection Officer for a number of businesses, participates as part of the ethics committee of Horizon EU projects, and is an active member of the European AI Alliance.

This webinar will be conducted in English.
