What’s Next in NanoEHS: Risk Assessment and Risk Management

The NNI’s Nanotechnology Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) webinars focus on existing challenges and needed breakthroughs to responsibly develop emerging nanotechnology-enabled applications. During this webinar, rising nanoEHS experts Nathan Drew (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)) and Yueyang “Brian” Zhang (Vireo Advisors, LLC) will share their perspectives on the new tools, approaches, and models that are being developed to assess and manage potential risks. Drew and Zhang will also provide case studies from newer materials (e.g., cellulosic nanomaterials) and modeling advances. Jay Vietas (NIOSH Nanotechnology Research Center) will moderate the discussion.

The NNI recognizes the work of new investigators and rising experts as vital to progress and innovation in this field and to inspiring the next generation of researchers. The webinar theme complements the NNI’s effort to refresh its 2011 NanoEHS Research Strategy to ensure that it addresses the evolving nanotechnology landscape.
