In this HORIZON EUROPE Community Deep Dive, Susanne Resch presented on Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) and latest developments of this concept.

SSbD has gained more and more attention lately – which is also reflected by the number of Horizon Europe projects that were funded on this topic. The concept supports the integration of safety and sustainability considerations early in the innovation phase; making new chemicals, materials, processes and resulting products as safe and sustainable as possible from early development onwards.

This webinar explored the concept of SSbD for chemicals and materials – from its holistic, generic approach to its implementation in case studies addressing different sectors.

Lessons learned of implementing SSbD in R&D&I funded were shared, and up-to-date insights & developments on SSbD within the European ecosystem were presented.
